Polkaero members and guests will follow all safety rules at the launch site. This includes both polkaero rules and those of TTRA.

POLKAERO STANDARD LAUNCH SAFETY RULES

Launch operations may be cancelled if the drought index in Hillsborough County is at 600 or higher. If you are unsure of the current index, please call or email for the latest information.

Any person who disregards safety practices, uses unsafe or dangerous motors,
or in any other way jeopardizes or appears to jeopardize the safety of others,
will be asked to leave the site. If an individual routinely follows unsafe practices,
that individual may be barred from future launch events.

Only commercially produced rocket motors, both single use and reloadable casings, are permitted. 
Homemade propellants are not permitted except on specific launch dates designated as experimental or reseach


TTRA LAUNCH SITE SAFETY RULES

The Launch Control Officer (LCO) is responsible for all launches. Rockets must be presented, and a flight card completed prior to launch. Rockets will be loaded onto pads ONLY after the LCO has verified and announced that the pads are safe.  All personnel must follow the safety guidlines and keep behind the launch table unless cleared by the LCO. We will not start a countdown or any other pre-launch activity while anyone is near the pads. All personnel MUST be back behind the launch table prior to conducting a launch. 

ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES ARE NOT PERMITTED 

GENERAL SAFETY INFORMATION

Concessions are not currenty available at the launch site. All persons are deeply encouraged to bring bottled water to the site especially during the hot summer months.

Shade trees are not present near the launch site. You may bring a covered canopy, but at the least, use plenty of sunscreen and wear a brimmed hat. And drink plenty of the water you brought with you.

Restroom/porta-potty services are not currently available. Ranch outhouses may be utilized if needed.
